Makerspace Classes for Kids & Teens
3D printing, textiles, and hands-on making in Scottsdale
Learn to use real fabrication tools (printers, embroidery, sewing, vinyl, and maker labs) to turn ideas into physical projects.
Make real projects with printers, textiles, and maker tools
Waybright’s makerspace is the fabrication side of STEM enrichment: students learn to operate tools and produce finished objects: printed parts, embroidered textiles, sewn pieces, vinyl work, and mixed-media maker projects. The focus is making with equipment, guided by instructors who teach safe tool use and project workflow.
Students build practical maker skills along the way: digital fabrication (design, print, and revise), textile production with embroidery and sewing, safe tool use from idea to finished piece, and creative prototyping in inventor- and maker-lab style projects.
These courses fit students who want to invent, craft, customize, or prototype something they can hold, from first-time builders (ages 4–6) through teen design lab and wearable technology. Enrichment that uses the makerspace is available for ages 4–17 and is Arizona ESA approved.
Makerspace is not the same as engineering classes (systems, physics, circuits, drones, and engineering design process), robotics (robots and competition pathways), or digital-only 3D/animation courses that never leave the screen. When a project needs both tools and deeper engineering theory, families often combine a makerspace course with an engineering or robotics course over time.
Tools students learn to use
3D printing
Design models and print on an industrial-quality large-scale Formlabs resin printer, used across young innovator through teen print courses.
Embroidery & textiles
A 10-needle embroidery machine with 100+ colors, plus sewing and quilting machines for fabric projects and custom textiles.
Maker assembly
Space and mentoring to assemble electronics, mechanical devices, and custom builds that start as ideas in the lab.
