Frequently Asked Questions

Straight Answers for Waybright Families

Enrichment programs, how they relate to our private Microschool, ESA, and how to get started.

Getting started

What ages do you serve?

Enrichment programs on this site serve children ages 4 through 17, all skill levels. The Microschool on the Academy site serves grades K–12.

What’s the difference between enrichment and the Microschool?

Enrichment (this site) includes private lessons, after-school classes, summer camps, and workshops — flexible add-ons around your child’s current school week.

Microschool is a separate private school program for grades K–12 (full-time, part-time, or hybrid). It can serve as your child’s primary school.

Same facility; different programs. See our Microschool overview or visit the Academy site.

Is Waybright a good fit for gifted or twice-exceptional (2e) learners?

Often yes. Waybright specializes in gifted and 2e students. The Microschool uses mastery-based, passion-led approaches for asymmetrical learning needs. Enrichment 1:1 lessons and small groups also work well for students who need personal pacing — whether they’re exploring tech for the first time or diving into advanced projects.

Do I need prior experience?

No. Most enrichment courses are introductory and we follow each student’s pace. If you’re unsure about private-lesson level, start with a single Level I trial hour — or tell us your child’s experience and we’ll recommend a path.

Enrichment programs

What subjects and programs do you offer?

Core areas include Animation & Digital Media, Coding & Programming, and Engineering & Robotics — plus game development, emerging tech, and specialty events.

  • 1:1 private lessons (year-round)
  • After-school small groups (~1:4 ratio)
  • Summer camps & one-day workshops

Browse the shop or STEM workshops.

What is the class size for after-school groups?

After-school classes are small groups with approximately a 1:4 tutor-to-student ratio, held weekday afternoons.

How do 1:1 private lessons work?

Lessons are available year-round for Kinder through 12th grade — weekdays and/or weekends, daytime or evening. A no-commitment trial lesson (1 hour) is a common first step. After that, lessons are typically sold as a course of about 14–16 hours. Rescheduling is possible with 24-hour notice by email or text.

Details and booking: Private lessons.

What’s the difference between Level 1, 2, and 3 tutors?

Level 1 — introductory; no prior experience required.

Level 2 — deeper specialization in areas students love; more advanced projects.

Level 3 — premier tutoring, including university-bound paths; consultation recommended first.

Microschool

Is the Microschool an accredited school?

Yes. It holds Cognia’s Accredited with Merit distinction. Credits are recognized by other accredited schools, colleges, and universities. See accreditation.

How many students are enrolled?

Enrollment is capped at 10 students total, with individualized attention and curriculum that can be rewritten weekly based on progress and interests.

Can my child attend part-time?

Yes. Full-time, part-time, and hybrid options are available — including for homeschool families. School-day hours are typically 8:30 am–3:30 pm, with early care and after care available.

Where do I apply?

Applications and the full program live on the dedicated Microschool site. Visit Microschool admissions or text 480-331-7660 to schedule a consultation.

ESA & cost

Are programs approved for Arizona ESA funds?

Yes. Waybright programs are approved for Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) funds, including Microschool tuition pathways. Text or email us if you need help matching programs to your child’s plan.

How does enrichment pricing work?

Pricing varies by program type, format, and session length. Current pricing for private lessons, group classes, camps, and workshops is available when you create an account, or by contacting us. Workshops often start around $50 with no commitment to other events.
