About This Course
This course focuses on developing strong reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. Students analyze a variety of literary and informational texts from diverse authors and genres. Writing assignments emphasize organization, evidence, and clear expression of ideas. Students participate in discussions that build communication and analytical skills. The course prepares students for advanced literacy demands in high school and beyond.
You'll learn to:
- Analyze literature and informational texts for meaning and structure.
- Write clear, organized essays using textual evidence.
- Develop speaking and listening skills through discussion and presentation.
- Build vocabulary and strengthen reading comprehension.

Choose a Lesson Package
Fourteen hours of one on one private instruction or one complete course. Weekday or weekend appointments with a live instructor onsite at our facility. Once lessons begin, students meet routinely each week on set days and times for one or more hours per week consecutively until the course hours have been completed. Appointments are subject to availability.
