About This Course
In this course, students enjoy reading about real life events and what is happening around them and on a daily basis, through reputable news sources. The content focus is technology and technology happenings; however, material related to each student’s specific areas of interest is encouraged, as students develop an expertise in a topic of their choice, over time. Students demonstrate reading comprehension and an in depth understanding using modern communication methods. Using a variety of methods to communicate understandings and share with others is useful because the world also receives information in many ways; such as, via social media, chat groups, podcasts, online articles etcetera. Students can turn in assignments as written reflections, video summaries, poems and more. To assist in the writing process, speech to text software is another of the many modern tools used in this course.
