Comic Booking and Manga Art for Teens is an exciting and comprehensive course designed specifically for teenagers who are passionate about comics and manga. This course provides a unique opportunity to explore the world of visual storytelling through both Western comic book and Japanese manga styles. Students will learn the fundamentals of character design, dynamic poses, panel layout, and storytelling techniques for creating captivating narratives. With a focus on digital creation, students will develop their artistic skills using professional equipment and software. Through interactive lessons, engaging projects, and peer feedback, teens will gain an understanding of valuable techniques used to create stunning comic book and manga illustrations. With practice and dedication students will have honed their artistic abilities and unleashed their creativity, ready to embark on their own comic book or manga adventures.
You'll learn to:
- Develop unique character designs, focusing on expressive facial features, dynamic poses, and distinct hairstyles that are typical of Manga art style
- Compose different panel layouts, including establishing shots, close-ups, and action sequences, to effectively convey the story and create a visually pleasing flow
- Use techniques and conventions of Manga storytelling such as visual storytelling cues and dramatic angles to enhance a narrative
Choose a Lesson Package
Fourteen hours of one on one private instruction or one complete course. Weekday or weekend appointments with a live instructor onsite at our facility. Once lessons begin, students meet routinely each week on set days and times for one or more hours per week consecutively until the course hours have been completed. Appointments are subject to availability.
