About This Course
Students will be introduced to sound as a physical phenomenon as well as how living things perceive sound. Activities will include sound recording, digital manipulation of sound by making use of various forms of signal processing and applying effects, and speaker systems for emitting sound. How sound is used creatively in music, film, and other mediums will be touched upon. Microphones, digital audio workstation/editing software, and speakers/headphones will be used throughout the course.
You'll learn to:
- Learn the basics of audio engineering, including sound recording, editing, and mixing techniques.
- Explore different audio equipment and software used in professional audio production.
- Develop skills in recording and editing audio, including voiceovers, music, and sound effects.
- Gain an understanding of sound design principles and how to create immersive audio experiences.
- Engage in hands-on projects to create and mix their own audio compositions.
Choose a Lesson Package
Fourteen hours of one on one private instruction or one complete course. Weekday or weekend appointments with a live instructor onsite at our facility. Once lessons begin, students meet routinely each week on set days and times for one or more hours per week consecutively until the course hours have been completed. Appointments are subject to availability.
